Lesson Guide - Walking with the Blues
John’s notes:
I composed this one minute ‘jazzy/blues’ tune takes advantage of di-adds (2 note harmonies) and triads, as well as
some ‘bluesy’ melodic licks in between. I’ve accompanied the tune with an upright bass sounding ‘walking bass’ rhythm
part to add to the ‘bluesy’ atmosphere. Although based on a standard 1 4 5 chord progression there are some chord
choices typically used in this genre. Think about the shuffle ‘groove’ when playing this tune.
