Starting with a ‘pedal steel guitar’ opening phrase this solo
targets the underlying chord tones. Although it’s a standard
1 - 4 - 5 (C - F - G) chord progression
in C Major, note the Bb chord prior to
the 4 chord F. For those who like
music theory this is often used in
Country & Blues. It’s the 4 chord of
the 4th chord !
Also note the ‘Harmonised’ 6th’s
notes in phrases 6 & 7. These are
notes who’s intervals are 6 notes
apart.
Although only a short arrangement
there’s lots of useful soloing idea’s
you can use either when improvising
or creating your own tunes.
