John’s Notes,I composed 1 minute solo for a professional ‘Soul’ singer who attends guitar lessons. She wanted a solo for a song she had written. Her Band is playing a simple E Maj & F#m chord progression throughout so I used the Pentatonic E Maj scale positions 1 and 2.Nothing too demanding here. Start off subdued to phrase 5, building in intensity into the chorus. The chorus ‘double stops’ (phrases 10 - 13) need to have a percussive feel. Practice the bends making sure to bend to the correct pitch as notated.
