Orchestra PLUS Electric Guitar

Backing Track
John’s Notes; This piece demonstrates that the modern electric guitar is very much at home in a traditional ‘Orchestral’ environment! I recently composed an Orchestral piece for a USA TV/Advertisement Library, and on completion decided that a ‘stripped down’ version would make a ‘simple’ guitar rhythm lesson using open strings and triad chord shapes. The first half of the video shows playing the chords, the second half includes a simple ‘melodic’ Arpeggio over the final verse using the same chords. The backing track was created (as are all my backing tracks) using my Korg ‘arranger’ keyboard. So be my guest and feel free to play over it whenever and wherever you want- there’s no copyright issues! To get the full learning benefit use the triad ‘shapes’ I recommend, i.e the different chord ‘inversions’ as they are called. For the ‘improvisers’ amongst us experiment playing your solo either by using just the Em scale and / or targeting the chord tones as well. Listen out to hear it on the TV somewhere! Enjoy!!
