John’s notes: This famous (and fun) Country & Western tune is in the Key of A minor. If playing an electric guitar there’s lots of ‘whammy Bar’ and ‘pull off’s’ practice here. If you haven’t got one fitted to your guitar or you are playing an acoustic guitar you can practice your finger ‘vibrato’ technique. My arrangement is based on ‘The Shadows’ recording (there are many others) because I like the 3 step climb in the middle changing the tonal centre (key) from A minor to C minor and back again to A minor. Because of it’s tempo this tune can be challenging to play if you are a beginner. Just play a small section at a time, at a speed you can manage, and gradually increase to fit the Backing. As with learning any instrument persevere and you’ll get there! I have deliberately not included the chords in the TAB solo PDF because this ‘Lesson Guide’ is about improving your ‘up tempo’ soloing dexterity.
TAB & ‘one to one’ tuition available to members
