John’s notes; This global hit instrumental recorded way back in 1967 by a group called ‘Fleetwood Mac’ has truly survived the test of time. Hundreds of artists have performed this tune, and it continues to be played in bars and clubs up and down the country. The original version featured 3 guitars playing different parts of the melody, and a beautifully played ‘slide guitar’. Also lots of overdubbing in the recoding studio! I have arranged this ‘solo’ guitar version focusing on the main melody, and inserting the other guitar parts as part of the main melody. I think it works well, and should be within the abilities of most students after a few ‘one to one’ lessons. This tune provides good practice for your bends which include ‘double bends’ and ‘pre bends’ (take care to achieve the correct bend pitch)! There are lots of slides to master as well. So no matter what genre you like playing the techniques in this tune are transferable to all styles (as are the techniques in all my arrangements).
